NBA Preseason Cuts: Key Players Now Free Agents and Potential EuroLeague Targets
As the NBA season draws near, all 30 franchises are finalizing their rosters, leading to the first wave of preseason cuts. Among the notable players released is Precious Achiuwa, as previously reported by to10.gr. Additionally, Mo Bamba and Terence Davis have also been waived, sparking renewed interest from EuroLeague teams across Europe.
European Interest Grows for NBA Free Agents
Achiuwa, Bamba, and Davis have all attracted attention from top European clubs, especially those competing in the EuroLeague. While these players have been linked to various teams overseas, their decisions to potentially relocate across the Atlantic remain uncertain. Throughout the summer, rumors circulated about their possible signings, with Olympiacos frequently mentioned in connection with all three athletes.
Terence Davis: A Persistent Link to Olympiacos
Terence Davis, a 28-year-old guard, has been a subject of speculation regarding a move to Olympiacos for over two years. Despite ongoing “courtship” between the player and the Greek powerhouse, Davis has remained committed to pursuing his NBA career. After signing an Exhibit 10 contract on September 23, he was ultimately cut during the final roster decisions. Over five NBA seasons, Davis has appeared in 228 games, averaging 8.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per contest. Notably, he earned a spot on the NBA’s All-Rookie Second Team in 2020.
In the 2023-24 season, Davis reportedly declined lucrative offers from EuroLeague teams, including Olympiacos, choosing instead to chase his NBA aspirations. In January 2024, he revealed, “Few people know this, but I turned down significant money to play abroad, in Greece and the EuroLeague. I said no because I want to return to the NBA. To stay there, you have to play in the G-League.”

Precious Achiuwa Released by Miami Heat
Precious Achiuwa, formerly with the New York Knicks, was waived by the Miami Heat after signing a non-guaranteed contract last month. During the previous season with the Knicks, Achiuwa averaged 6.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1 assist over 57 games. Known for his explosive athleticism and versatility, the Nigerian-born forward is highly regarded by European scouts as an ideal fit for the EuroLeague’s competitive style.
Despite this, Achiuwa remains focused on securing an NBA roster spot, while several EuroLeague teams, including Olympiacos, monitor his situation closely. Olympiacos had been linked to Achiuwa last summer before finalizing the signing of Donta Hall.

Mo Bamba Also Waived, EuroLeague Interest Intensifies
Mo Bamba, recently released by the Utah Jazz, is another player drawing EuroLeague attention. The 27-year-old center appeared in 28 games for the Los Angeles Clippers and 4 for the New Orleans Pelicans last season before joining Utah, where he played only one preseason game. Like Achiuwa and Davis, Bamba has been linked to Olympiacos in international reports but remains intent on finding an NBA role.
