Successful Launch of “Connect Autism” Initiative Ahead of AEK vs. Panserraikos Match
Just before the kickoff of the AEK versus Panserraikos game, the impactful event “Connect Autism” was held with remarkable success. This initiative is part of the ongoing activities at the Day Center for Autism and was organized under the auspices of AEK and the non-profit organization IASIS.
Community Engagement Beyond the Stadium
The tradition of hosting meaningful events outside the AEK stadium continued this season, starting with the opening match against Panserraikos. In collaboration with IASIS, the club facilitated the “Connect Autism” program, designed to raise awareness and foster inclusion for individuals on the autism spectrum.
Interactive Activities Promoting Unity and Gratitude
At Aetos Square, participants engaged in a variety of hands-on activities aimed at emphasizing teamwork, joy, and appreciation. Young supporters of the team took part in collective artistic projects, including the creation of a “Gratitude Tree” and “Joy Boxes.” Additionally, group games were organized to nurture a spirit of solidarity and cooperation among attendees.
Expanding Awareness Through Creative Expression
These activities not only provided entertainment but also served as a platform to educate the community about autism spectrum disorder (ASD). According to recent data from the World Health Organization, approximately 1 in 100 children worldwide are diagnosed with ASD, highlighting the importance of inclusive initiatives like this. By integrating art and play, the event successfully bridged gaps and encouraged empathy among participants.
